María Bravo is a postdoctoral researcher in the Explainable Machine Learning Group at TUM and Helmholtz Munich, led by Prof. Zeynep Akata. She (will) obtained her Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Freiburg in Germany under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Brox, and her research focuses on vision-language models, particularly open-vocabulary recognition and generative evaluation. She has presented her work at top conferences, including ICLR, CVPR, and NeurIPS, and has collaborated with institutions such as Amazon, KAUST, and the University of Freiburg. María holds a master's degree in biomedical engineering and bachelor's degrees in mathematics and biomedical engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Passionate about teaching and mentoring, she has supervised several students and co-organized academic seminars. Outside of research, she enjoys tennis, dancing, and speaking and learning multiple languages.
